Six Word Saturday

My six words:

Dollface broke up with me! Jerkface....

(Dollface will now be called Jerkface whenever I talk about him. Yeah, we're still friends [kind of], but he's such a jerk. Wow.)

Something to keep my iPod warm with...

I crocheted an iPod cozy for my fabulous iTouch over the weekend.

And when I was half way done with it, I realized how I could of made it better. So, I'll take pictures of VERSION 2.0 and post it sometime this week (depending on whether or not my life hates me).

So, here are some piccies. :)

Photobucket
One of the infamous flowers is sewed to the front of the case.

Photobucket
My iPod likes it's cozy little sweater a lot, but VERSION 2.0 is a little bit better.

Stay beautiful, lovelies! VERSION 2.0, and some more awesome stuff, coming later in the week.

We don't have much left, though, do we? D:

My Day: A Totally Awkward Collaboration

This is yet another TAT post hosted by Tova Darling.

You all have to understand that I don't even THINK this post deserves a Totally Awkward Tuesday post. My day sucked, and it was awkward. The horrible part was that it wasn't even that funny!

So, to begin, I woke up this morning and I didn't feel good. When you screw up, you always blame it on the fact that you feel like you're dying because you have a stuffy nose. It's human nature.

Then I went to English class. This essay I worked hard on got slaughtered in front of the class (AKA: My teacher read my essay in front of the class and took a pen and BLED on it.) There were so many typos in the essay. I was so embarrassed. I realized how much my writing sucks. I am scared to even write this post, honestly. Is that awkward enough?

Then in my next class, my teacher was drinking water. So, I thought, Okay. She's drinking water. I guess I'll take my water bottle out...

So, I take a sip. My teacher screams at me. IT'S WATER PEOPLE. I HAVE A MEDICAL CONDITION. I NEED TO DRINK WATER.

But Moxie is too shy to mention that in front of a class. Now I have to call my doctor and have him FAX all my teachers proof and evidence that I am a freak of nature. (And on later TAT posts, I will give you examples of ways that teachers have treated me like a freak of nature. Stay tuned.)

And to top off my day, some freshman (FRESHMEAT. FRESHMEAT.) fell on my head. Yes, it was raining cat and freshman.

I am only joking. I was sitting outside on the concrete for lunch (I'm sure you all have heard me rant about this before), and some kid pushed his "friend" into my person. Said freshmeat apparently was slow, because it seriously took him about 3 minutes to get off my head.

Okay, freshmen falling on my head like raindrops is kind of funny.

So there you have it. A very nontraditional Totally Awkward Tuesday. I guess my day was destined to suck to epic proportions, because it's Tuesday. But at least it was awkward.

So yes, please, go share your Totally Awkward Post on Tova's blog. Why? Because it helps cleanse your soul. It's totally like blogging yoga. :)

Stay beautiful!

Beautiful Sunday

Photobucket
They give us shade while we boil in the heat.

It's another Beautiful Sunday. And this week, I am thankful for the trees.

Now, I speak for the trees when I say it annoys me when people love the trees because they suck up CO2 and give off Oxygen. Yes, this is important, and without the trees we would probably be blue raisins right now, but...

Let's say the female race was going extinct. "Oh no! Now we have no one to make babies for us and clean our houses!" someone may say. Offensive! I wonder how the trees must feel...

I appreciate trees in this hot weather. They give us shade. They are beautiful. Beautiful animals grow up in beautiful trees. And as I am about to go spend the whole day outside, the trees will protect me, somewhatly, from the heat.

I am thankful for where there is heat, there is a tree to love you. (Hopefully.)

Now, what is beautiful in your life? What are you thankful for?

Totally Awkward Tuesday

This Totally Awkward Tuesday post is brought to you by the legendary Tova Darling.

Sometimes I really want to say, "My dear readers, I am running out of awkward stories for you!" But in reality, I just don't want to go into the vault of very, very awkward stories. But now, I must.

When I was in the peak of my middle school years, I was in a group from my church that got to go on a trip to Georgia.

I think that going on the trip was awkward enough. I was probably the weirdest, ugliest, and strangest kid there. But yet, these people still faked liking me. Maybe they were being for real, but whatever, back to the story.

So after the trip, we stopped at a beach.

Now, my readers know what Moxie does when she goes to the beach, right? Yes, I hunt for shells. So I did just that. I didn't find much worth a crap, but I really wanted to take one or two home as a souvenir.

But, I was addressed with a problem.

The group leader had called me up to the side, "Moxie, you can only take one shell home."

"What?! Why!?!" I cried out. "I want to take them as souvenirs to my parents, my grandma, and my nephew."

"Moxie, they are going to stink up the car. Please, just put them back," he said, and walked away.

Now, in my childhood years, I thought I was sneaky. There was the ceramic incident, which I got away with. I could totally get away with this too!

So, I put my shells in a cup, and wrapped the cup in a sweater. And I had a big ball. It was huge. And obvious. I made it home, and I felt horrible. I disobeyed my group leader. But oh well, I got my shells, right?

A few years later, as I got home from the beach, I went to youth group. I was talking with one of the other leaders there, and said group leader was there too. Then, after I said that I hunted for shells while I was on vacation, he blurted out...

"YEAH LIKE THAT TIME YOU TOOK THOSE SHELLS EVEN THOUGH I TOLD YOU NOT TO?"

Oh crap. What do I say?

"Oh... Heheh... Yeah, I was wondering when you'd bring that up?!"

Smooth move Moxie.

None the less, I am MUCH more picky about shell hunting that I once was. There HAVE been times where I went to the beach and didn't pick anything up. AREN'T YOU PROUD OF ME NOW?! :)

And I'm sure you're wondering what happened to the cup of "prohibited" shells, aren't you?

Well, they are still sitting in that cup.

If you are reading this, Mr. Group Leader, I am really sorry I disobeyed you. I shouldn't of. It wasn't worth the guilt. And the awkwardness. But mostly the awkwardness.

The Start of a New Year

I had a very good first day of school. I am looking forward to all the challenges I am soon to face.

I am going to be very active in Thespians this year. I also have a college level course, which I am nervous about. I am going to get a lot of Totally Awkward Tuesdays out of that! And, of course, I am in Chorus.

I want to try to create a crocheting club at my church, because I'm tired of crocheting by myself! D:

So, we'll see. No worries though, this blog is going to stay alive. Even it kills me. (Haha, no crappy pun intended!)

Stay beautiful!

Beautiful Sundays

Photobucket
My backpack is packed. I'm ready for school tomorrow.

Yes, this is my last day of freedom. But, tomorrow I start school, and there is no fighting that. Yes, school can be very unpleasant for me. Yes, a lot of people thought I was weird last year, and since I have a ball of yarn packed in my awesome Hello Kitty Backpack, they will probably think I'm a freak of nature. But you know what? That's okay.

I'm still thankful that for the past 11 years, I've had a good education and, for the most part, have been blessed with being rather smart. I am thankful that women can go to school, because in some countries the women have to stay home and clean (eew, cleaning!). I am thankful that my education, along with a lot of other worthy and unworthy people, is mostly free of charge.

It just hurts me, now that I think of it, that some other people aren't thankful for this.

I'm glad this weekly post makes me see the good in the most unpleasant things.

Now, what is beautiful in your life? What are you thankful for?

Life is going to get boring in a few days...

I don't like showing up here without a craft project in hand, but... I really think you guys aren't going to get much out of me for a while...

This is what I've got to do before I go back to school on Monday:

Photobucket

And this is all I've got done so far:

Photobucket

Procrastination? Yes.

Will I do this during the school year? HOPEFULLY NOT!

My education will be the death of my blog... Or My blog will be the death of my education?

I hope not either.

Our Painted Creations are BACK!

Remember the skull and monkey that Kae and I painted at the pottery place?

Well, my mother picked them up, and they look gorgeous!

Even the skull, which had a bit of a mishap last Tuesday, turned out to be in better shape than I thought it was.

In fact, I think there is no need to cut out a hole to make a planter. It's nothing a flower or something can't cover.

So here we go, pictures!!

Photobucket
Kae's Monkey. "Ooh, eee, ooh, ah, ah. Ting, tang, walla walla bing bang!" :)

Photobucket
My very girlie skull...

Photobucket
And this is the hole in it's head. Not that bad, really. I expected way worse.

Now, what do you think I should do to cover up my skull's boo boo? :)

Totally Awkward Tuesday- Totally Distracted

It's Tuesday again, and you know what that means? TOTALLY AWKWARD TUESDAY WITH TOVA DARLING! Yay!

This week we shall address one of my craziest qualities: how easily distracted I am.

One day, during my Women's Chorus class, we were all sitting in a semi circle. We practicing one of our songs for a competition. The Soprano II section were getting picked on this particular day, leaving my Alto Buttocks sitting upright in my chair.

Mind you, my chorus class is always at the end of the day. It's right after lunch, I'm tired. And to top it all off, my mother probably packed me a bit too much sugary goodness that day.

Now, focus up at the air vents. Hmm... Interesting. There are these moldy spots on the four corners. Air Vent A's mold spot on Corner one is bigger than corner two, three, or four! BUT, look at Air Vent B... It is 6 tiles away from Air Vent A, but Corner two's mold spot is...

While I am looking up at the air vents, in a daze, one of my friends in the Soprano I is trying to find out what I am looking at. Also, my friend sitting beside me is curious. "What are you looking at, Moxie?"

I don't want to get in trouble by my sort-of-not-in-a-good-mood-at-the-moment chorus teacher, so I whisper, "Nothing."

I put my head back in the clouds. Okay, Corner two's mold spot is bigger than Corner 1 , 3, or 4! OOOH man, that's annoying. Air vent A is 6 tiles away from Air vent B. Air Vent C is 6 tiles away from Corner B. We almost have a square here, but stupid...

My friend who was sitting next to me is now looking at the ceiling with me. "I really don't see what you're looking at," she whispers.

My chorus teacher notices. Oh crap. "What's wrong?!" She says angrily, not like you would say if someone was crying or had just broken a bone.

My friend in the Soprano 1 section spoke. "Moxie is looking at something on the ceiling."

"What's up there Moxie?" She says impatiently.

"Nothing. I'm just observing the air vents. They are kind of interesting."

A friend of mine in the Soprano 2 section giggle. So typical of Moxie, I'm sure she's thinking.

My chorus teacher rolls her eyes and continues practicing with the Soprano 2 section.

Alright, here we go again. But stupid Air Vent D is 5 squares away from Air Vent A. NOW IT'S SOME KIND OF WEIRD POLYGON. NO! IT'S GOTTA BE A SQUARE!

Now my chorus teacher was getting mad. She slammed on the piano and had hate in her voice, "YOU'RE DISTRACTING MY SOPRANO 2s!!! STOP LOOKING AT THE AIR VENTS."

D: "Why can't you guys just let me look at the air vents in peace?!?!" I begged.

She gives me an evil glare.

"Okay. I won't do it again... Sorry."

Now I look at the air vents and wonder, "Why hasn't anyone cleaned those things?"

Coquina Jewelry Box, Part 2

"How do you clean those stinky shells, Moxie?"

Well, no one asked that question besides myself. I took one whiff of them and was like, "Eew, how am I going to clean these putrid things?"

Everyone knows that anything that comes out of the ocean is going to stink. So, here's my gentle way of cleaning those shells that you don't want to clean in bleach.

1. Get a cute little water pail, bucket, sifter, and your shells.

Photobucket

2. Put your shells in the sifter. Place the sifter on top of the bucket.

Photobucket

3. Fill up your cute little water pail with water.

4. Pour the water onto the shells. Repeat.

Photobucket

5. Let the shells soak in soapy water over night.

6. Repeat step 3 and 4 the day, pouring the water on the shells until most of the soap is gone.

7. Let the shells soak in clean water over night.

Photobucket

8. Repeat step 3 and 4 COMPULSIVELY!

And there you go. They should be clean. And if they still smell... Do it again. If not, use the last resort... Mild bleach solution.

Beautiful Sunday/The one where Moxie falls off a golf cart

Photobucket
One of the decorated pews.

BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND! My sister got married, and everything went beautifully. I am so thankful that she found the love of her life and that we all got to celebrate this together as family and friends.

Thing that kind of sucks... Today, I totally fell off the back of a golf cart. I am very thankful that I didn't get hurt that badly, just a few scratches and a few bruises that really hurt. I got checked out by a doctor and everything, I am alright.

I am greatful that this happened today, and not before the wedding. :)

Now, what are you greatful for? What's beautiful in your life?

Crocheted Flowers

Yesterday, I was inspired to make some crocheted flowers. So, I looked up the pattern on the internet and after a few tries, finally got it. Crochet patterns are confusing to read at first. It's like reading a second language! Hehe.

So anyway, this is what I did!

Photobucket
The flower in the middle is suppose to be yellow and purple, not yellow and blue. My camera is starting to make me sad. :/

Which one is your favorite? I want to know!

Mine is the purple one. It was the first one I did, and I was so happy when I finished it. :)

I'll be making more of these in the future. THEY ARE SO ADDICTING!

I found the pattern here. You have to register to the website before you can download the PDF file. There is also a very nice directory with many different types of flowers here.

Coquina Jewelry Box, Part 1

"The Box, before awesomeness"

Surprise! I am starting a very new project. I am making a jewelry box COVERED in Coquina Shells that I found while I was at the beach.

I am going to take you step by step through this project. What does this mean? I will update you periodically about how the project is going, what I am doing, and of course, pictures! It'll be like watching a baby grow up. :3

So, here are some pictures of the box. Enjoy!

Photobucket

Photobucket
The box full of stuff. The heart shape box is my old jewelry box that one of my sisters made for me. We aren't on good terms right now, so looking at the box kind of gives me pain. Plus, it's way too small for all my jewelry. That's why I am making this new one, because it will remind me of the place I love; the ocean!

Photobucket
I dumped everything out so you could see how deep the box is. It's pretty big! Can I fill it? DUH!

The one where Moxie seems to have a lot of bad luck....

You guys remember that skull I made about a week ago?

Well, while it was being fired in the kiln, it fused itself to the shelf... and cracked on the top of it's... head.

Just my luck, right?

At least the pottery shop is giving me another opportunity to paint another piece of pottery just like it, for free.

I guess I have to look on the bright side, but it's still a bummer that all that work went to nothing.

Then yet, we'll see. They aren't throwing my skull away, so I am still going to take it home and see what I can do about it.

I have no idea if it is possible to cut through pottery, but if I can just find a way to do cut a hole around the crack without damaging the rest of the skull, then I could make a planter or something out of it.

So there would be a double bright side... NO! Triple.

1) I'd get to have fun painting another piece of pottery FOR FREE.
2) I still get my original skull, and I may get a planter out of it too.
3) I may learn something new.

So, wish me luck, and if you have any idea how to cut into pottery... Then SPEAK UP. :) Please and thank you!

Much love,
Moxie

Totally Awkward Tuesday- I'm with Stupid (Yeah, That'd Be Me...)

Hello my loving readers, old and new both. Today I will be participating in Tova's Totally Awkward Tuesday, like I do almost every week.

As you all know, I went to New Jersey this year for almost four weeks. We drove both ways, 19 hours each way. Yes, that was a very long ride.

On the way home, we had 5 people in my aunt's van: My aunt, my 87 year old grandmother, my two cousins, and myself. No matter where we go, it is my job to guide my grandmother out of the car, into where ever we were going, and back out to the car. This is a job I am glad to take. I love both my grandmothers, and this grandmother has a history of falling, and I don't want her to fall again.

But that's not the awkward part. It's not my cute grandmother's fault I got embarrassed, it's my silly loud mouth! :)

Anyway, on the way back from New Jersey, we stopped at a McDonald's for a pit stop. I walked my grandmother into the bathroom and I walked her out once she was done.

Now, while we were walking, this HUGE party was walking by us. I automatically assumed that they were a family. Whether or not they were, I don't know. But still, that's not what caught my eye, but the little, skinny boy caught me by surprise.

The boy was wearing a shirt, much like this:

Photobucket

And next to him, there was a lady. And since the group seemed to be together, I automatically assumed it his mother. So, in an attempt to make some humor, I spoke up.

"Well, that's not very nice!"

Someone in their party said, "What?"

"His shirt, it says 'I'm with stupid. That's not nice to say about your mother."

Then the lady that I thought was his mother spoke up, "I'm not his mother!"

Oops. My bad. "Just kidding!" I said, then walked off slowly with my grandmother. I would of run, but I didn't want to leave my grandmother behind.

We got back to the car and I told my cousins and my aunt what had just happened. Of course, they were really interested. And I really don't think my grandmother knew was going on. But that's okay. All I was thinking was "DUDE, I AM SO POSTING THIS AS A TOTALLY AWKWARD TUESDAY POST! YAY!"

So, thanks Tova Darling. I can now cope with awkward moments more efficiently.

Well, hope you enjoyed my awkward story. Now, I think it's time for you to post YOURS! Go check out Tova's blog for details. I want to hear your awkward stories. :) It makes me happy when people are as blonde as Moxie is!

Life is beautiful

Photobucket

I took the picture above at a gas station, which is probably one of the most un-beautiful places on the earth (unless you are on a long road trip and have to pee really badly, then by far, a gas station's dirty bathrooms win).

Now, I am as guilty as many people. We don't frequently notice the beautiful in our lives, especially when faced with lots of ugly.

But I don't know, the sky last night was beautiful in my eyes. I'm glad it made me realize how beautiful life was.

Now, take time to think about how beautiful life is. What seems the most beautiful to you right now?

Have a beautiful Sunday everyone!

Stay beautiful,
Moxie!

UPDATE: Whether you people like it or not, I am now making it TRADITION to post a "Beautiful Sunday" post weekly. I just realized how lucky I am to living right now. I didn't have a near death experience, but even worse... A "That Could of Been Me" experience. I am now counting my blessings, and will do so every Sunday on this blog.

Six Word Saturday

It's that time of the week again!

So here's mine.

Today: Babysitting while everyone parties. Jealousy!

Go do your's on Cate's blog. Like, now!

Stay beautiful!

Another Ring Pop Creation

This is the forth Ring Pop Creation I have made.

My nieces saw my Button Ring and had to have one. I made one for my eldest niece, and still [may] have to make another one for the other.

Photobucket

Kae figured out how to get the nobby thing off the ring pop. Of course, it involves a very large knife. Moxie does not do well with knives. Therefore, I will now be giving Kae all my empty ring pops so she can do the dirty work for me. That's what friends are for, right? :)

Our Painted Creations

I went to go paint pottery yesterday with Kae. We had to go an hour away from home to get our creativity on. And here is the results:

Photobucket
Of course, this is what I painted. It's a very girly skull. It's so Moxie, isn't it?

Photobucket
This is what Kae painted. It's a monkey, of course. I guess she painted this because she feel bad that she hasn't gotten a pet monkey yet. Poor Kae. This will have to do. :)

Photobucket
And they will be friends until death do them part. Uh oh. I think it's too a little too late for my skull!

Right now they are both in a kiln, and won't be ready for a week and a half. But, we won't have time to go fetch it for another two weeks. So, I'll take pics of the final results then.

Stay beautiful!

Six Things That Make You Happy

Hello beautiful people! :)

I was just recently tagged by Lee Beth, because I obviously make her feel happy. (and this makes me very happy!) Now, I must list six things that make me happy, and tag people whose blogs also make me happy. This is exciting! Let's get started.

1. My Family. I have a very, very strange family. Yet, we are all so similar. Creative, crazy, beautiful personalities.
2. Dollface. Our 2 year anniversary is coming up. It makes me happy that I could love someone for that long, and that someone could love me for that long. Plus, we're just silly together. Can't get any better than that.
3. My friends. I wouldn't be anywhere without my friends. If there is something crazy I want to do that Dollface isn't that into, I call up Kae. If I want to talk serious talk, I call up Rae. And I have so many friends, between them, and my Women Chorus family.
4. Music. It makes up a big part of my soul. I am very involved into chorus, theatre, and Thespians at school. I sing all the time, I listen to music all the time. It's amazing.
5. Traveling. I love seeing different things. I love the ocean, yet I love the climate and history of New Jersey. I love seeing all these things, but still getting to come home to my normal life at the end of it all.
6. Creativity. Of course, this is the one thing that always makes me happy. I love crafts. I love art. I love being creative. This is one thing that no one could EVER take away from me. Being creative makes me... Me! And keeps me happy.

Hurrah! Now, for the people who make me mucha happy. Go on and spread the happiness, and also stay beautiful!

[I am going in alphabetical order of the blog's url. So, don't feel discriminated if you aren't the first on the list. Just wanted to throw that out there, I don't like people's feelings being hurt. :)]

Katie @ Color Me Katie
Julie @ Joy's Hope
Call Me Kate @ Show My Face
Ebony @ Sizzling Productions
Tabatha @ Tabulous
Chris @ The MiniFridge and the Microwave

Call that irony, but that's six people! :)

I will be letting all the tagged victims know through email... Because that's how I roll.

Stay beautiful,
Moxie <3

Totally Awkward Tuesday- Hippie Glasses Equals NO GO

I have been so bummed out that I was unable to participate in Tova Darling's Totally Awkward Tuesday for two whole weeks. But now that I'm back, I shall share yet another totally awkward puzzle piece of my life.

Now I will take you back to my middle school days. Back in middle school, I was an odd ball. I was obsessed with black clothes, skirts, and for a period of time, had a pair of pink tinted glasses. They were, in fact, so UGLY, that Google does not a have a good picture example because they would just break the internet.

School started that 7th grade year. I was out of my very much awkward phase where I didn't have any friends at all, but I was still crammed in a shell that I am no longer stuck in today. In a very bad attempt to look cool [and improve my eyesight, for they were REAL perscription glasses] and up my popularity with my friends, I wore my ugly pink glasses with stride.

Anyway, I had this very weird teacher in the 7th grade. He was a strange man, poor fellow had some injuries occur to him while he was in some war, and that's why he was so weird. But still, he probably makes up forty percent of my totally awkward stories. We'll call him Mr. Weird Teacher, or Mr. WT for short.

I had Mr. WT forth period. After lunch, I rolled into his class with my best friend, Kae, and Rae, who I just befriended.

Mr. WT notices my glasses. "Hey Moxie, I like your glasses."

I'm satisfied, although I had no idea how weird Mr. WT was at the time, so I didn't know what was coming would be a struggle through the whole year. "Thanks!" I say.

Mr. WT would eventually mention that the glasses I was wearing reminded him of the hippie days. This may of been cool to him, because he was totally jealous that I was rocking the hippie look he never go to wear because he was stuck in the war, but this was not something to be overlooked by my teasing classmates.

Every time Mr. WT would see me, he would call me a hippie. Every time one of my classmates would see me, they'd do the same. I remember going home crushed because of this. This continued on the whole year, regardless of me putting the shamed glasses to rest two weeks later. They were totally a waste of money.

I look back on this and laugh. I really do. Back then, I actually thought it was an insult to be a hippie. Now, not so much.

But still, those glasses are ugly. If I could actually find them, I don't think you could possibly pay me to wear them. Lesson learned, unnaturally tinted glass equals NO GO.

I'm back!

I am back from the beach, finally. I had a ton of fun, and couldn't get on the internet at all. Saddening, but oh well! I got a whole crapload of shells (just what I need, more shells). But I'm still extremely happy that I'm back to my lovely home with lovely Wi-Fi.

I am thinking about making a new blog. Once school starts in a few weeks, I won't be able to craft as much as I can now. Therefore, if I just have an extra blog for my awesomeness (because you all just love me, I know you do!), then I will be able to update it more.

My only fear is making a new layout... O.o

Creative Explosion would still be open for posts about my crafts, but only my crafts.

I am not completely sure about this decision, so feedback is greatly appreciated.

Goodbye, my sweet, loving readers!

I'm leaving tomorrow, and I'll be back on Monday, August 3.

I have no idea if I'll be able to get on the internet while I'm down there, but I will try my hardest.

I'll miss you guys!

Stay beautiful!!

Six Word Saturday

Early morning tomorrow. Bridesmaid dress shopping!

There are my six words. Post on your blog, click the botton above, and put yours in!

I'm going to the Beach

Yeah, I'm kind of leaving you guys again. I'm leaving for the beach on Monday.

Now promise not to kill me when I tell you this: I'm going for two weeks. Seriously now, drop the knives. I promise, if I could take you all with me I would. Don't get jealous. :)

Anyway, like I said when I left for New Jersey, I don't know what the circumstances will be for internet connection down there. If I can get on the internet, then I will be either posting crafts that I make down there or tutorials on some of the crafts that are already on this blog. Chances are, some of both.

I'll still be posting for the next few days, so don't worry (I mean I have to post tomorrow, it's Six Word Saturday!!).

Stay beautiful!

Slim Jim Containers to Awesome Pencil Holders

One unique thing about me is that I have a seriously huge pencil collection.

Another sadly unique thing about me is that my pencil collection is in the far depths of my closet, and is not accessible to model my newest project. =[

When school was still in session, Kae and Dollface would always get a Slim Jim in MY lunch. Yeah, you heard me. My mom sent these "poor, sweet children" food. Hehe.

But anyway, we don't have recycling here. So, I saved these Slim Jim Cans a trip to the dump. I painted them with green metallic paint and painted [very bad] flowers on them. Like I previously said, my original intentions was to get my pencil collection out and have these new pencil holders be their new home... But fate doesn't work that way. So I have random stuff in them now instead.

So anyway, enjoy!

I've been tagged. Oh my!

Photobucket

Ebony loves me. She tagged me with this awesome blog award, Honest Scrap Award! So, here are the rules:

1. “The Honest Scrap” award is not one to hold all to your self but it must be shared!

2. First, the recipient has to tell 10 true things about themselves in their blog that no one else knows.

3. Second, the recipient has to pass along this prestigious award to 10 more bloggers.

4. Third, those 10 bloggers all have to be notified they have been given with this award.

5. Those 10 bloggers that receive this award should link back to the blog that awarded them “The Honest Scrap’ award.

So, here I go... Ten things you don't know about me, Moxie!

1. Kae, who is one of my 5 followers, is my best friend IRL.

2. I'm an Alto in a Women's Chorus.

3. Although I am of the age to drive, I don't drive. Why? I don't feel like it!

4. I get worried very easily.

5. I'm lactose intolerant.

6. I blog from my very cute pink laptop. :)

7. I am in LOVE with Neil Patrick Harris.

8. I think O.P.I. nail polish stinks. :/ I'm about to remove it from my finger nails when I can detach myself from the computer.

9. I love high heals, but they hurt my feet so much! :(

10. I'm allergic to dogs.

Now, I'm tagging these people:

1. Kae @ Kae's Virtual Diary
2. Sharon @ Creative Origins
3. Call Me Cate @ Show My Face
4. Tabatha @ Tabulous
5. Julie @ Joy's Hope

Now, I am incredibly sorry... but I only have 5 people to give this award to! D: Everyone else already has the award... I'm so sorry. But, thanks again Ebony, and I'll try to update this with more people in the morning!

Stay beautiful,
Moxie

I just got a twitter!

And I never realized how incredibly easy it is. It's so cool. :)

Another Ring Pop Creation, Moxie?! Are you out of your mind?!?

Yes, I am. :)

But anyway, this is my latest Ring Pop Creation. I inherited all these buttons from my aunt in New Jersey. She gave them to me because she knew I was a good home for them. And I've already put these buttons to work.

Photobucket

Okay, you caught me. I really wanted to show off my Revlon nail polish. :D Also, I wanted to show off Mr. Bunny's butt (that's who my hand is "modeling" on).

I've already gotten compliments on this ring at my allergist's office. All the nurses had to try it on. But, it still kinda smells of 527 glue... Oh well, you know what they say about beauty... It smells!

Fabulous Five!

Five followers doesn't seem like a lot to most people... But yet again, I'm not most people.

I am incredibly thankful to the people to follow my blog and read it. I couldn't ask for anything more but that. Even if it's just a few readers, that makes me happy.

Stay Beautiful,
Moxie

Totally Awkward Tuesday- Tubing

Once again, I will be participating in Totally Awkward Tuesday with Tova Darling. So here is mine.

Everyone should know who Dollface is. If you don't, I'll tell you again. Dollface is my boyfriend of almost two years. Anyway, Dollface always has an end of the year party after school lets out. This year, his mom was away for the party, so we had to do the party at his dad's house.

Now, Dollface's dad is kick butt, I'll tell you that. I've never met a dad, other than mine, that was seriously THAT awesome.

Anyway, Dollface's dad has a boat, and we were going to go tubing. The day before we actually had to RETRIEVE the tube from his mom's house, in the rain. No, that wasn't the awkward part. That was the fun part.

So, the day of the party came. It was generally a fun day. I taught some people how to kayak, I watched my friends try to sing on Rock Band, I hate a lot of food. It was fun. Then, it was TUBING TIME.

So we went out on the boat. There were six of us on the boat. Dollface, myself, two of Dollface's friends, Dollface's dad, and one of my best friends.

So we got out on the middle of the lake. Dollface and Dollface's friend #1 went out on the tube. Watching them got me scared. I don't like to take risks. Regardless of moxie meaning courage, I do not like to go out on things that may very well kill me. Anyway, after they went, one of my best friends and Dollface's friend #2 went on. Again, watching this more and more got me scared sh*tless. Then finally, it was my turn.

Dollface and I went on the next time. Now, before I go on with the story, I must give you a very important detail. I was wearing a bikini with shorts on top of the bottoms.

Okay, so we went out on the tube. We kept going faster, and faster. I was getting more and more scared for my life. I kept yelling "DOLLFAAACE!!" when I almost fell off. This happened many times. I'll tell you, I was holding on for my dear life.

Then finally... I fell off...

And so did my bathing suit bottoms.

LE GASP! You say. Yes, that's what I was thinking while I was drowning underneathe the tube. Before I got back up to the surface, I pulled them back up quickly. I was just praying that no one saw.

Luckily, I got back to the top alive. The life jacket helped hide the fact that my bikini half fell off too. No one would have known, unless I asked.

And if you know me well, I did. But they didn't see anything, and they just started laughing. Then, to make the situation even more awkward, Dollface's friend #1 yelled out:

"THAT'S SOMETHING ONLY DOLLFACE SHOULD SEE!"

Right in front of Dollface's dad.

Totally. Awkward.

Shell Pendants

Here's a flashback from the past!

Almost a year ago, I made these shell pendants.

Photobucket

They have holes drilled in them (by hand, mind you), and doo-dads glued in with 527 glue. I am yet to make them into necklaces, but once I do, I will post the final result.

I am also thinking about posting up tutorials on some of the craft projects I have on this blog, but... More on that later. ;)

Who is Dollface? Well, I'll tell ya!

I've had two comments questioning... "Who is Dollface?"

Well, to answer your question, Dollface is my boyfriend. :) We've been dating for almost 2 years. <-- (No biggie. Hehe.)

Dollface went across the country on vacation.

So there you go! Now you know!

(I love my rhyme scheme.)

The Start of a Baby Craft Marathon!

No, I'm not pregnant. >_>

My sister's best friend and aunt of my oldest nephew, who is like a sister to me, just found out that she is pregnant. Not even five minutes after finding this out, I dibbed planning the baby shower and already have a few ideas for some cute baby crafts. I'm very excited.

So, be aware!!

Ring Pop Creations?!

I know what you're thinking. "Ring pops? You mean those rings with the delicious candy on them that you suck on for hours, but you never can lick it all off?! You can make something with that?!"

And the answer is, yes.

A year ago, while my cousin and I were hunting for Cape May Diamonds, and we had a marvelous idea. "We could totally make a ring out of these," I said. My cousin and I found a plastic part to a ring pop, but weren't aloud to pick it up because it was dirty.

So, this year, before I went to New Jersey, I went to my local dollar and bought 3 packages of 4 ring pops. (Thats $3 dollars plus tax for 12 ring pops. How much are they at the grocery store counter? Like, 89 cents?) Anyway, once I got to New Jersey, I handed my cousin a bag and told him to start licking!

We went to Cape May, found some diamonds, and brought them home and made these:

Photobucket
Yes, if you must ask, that is ME modeling the ring. On the top of the ring, there is a piece of clear seaglass.

Photobucket
This is the same idea, only we added that weird looking shell, which we also found on the beach.

I must also note that we had to use 527 glue to glue all the diamonds/shells/sea glass on the rings. And 527 glue is very, very smelly.

Please excuse the mess...

I am currently editing my blog... So yeah. Excuse the messy appearance.

UPDATE: What you see right now is sort of what my blog is going to look like... Well... I don't know for sure. Crafty people like me don't know what the heck they're doing. Excuse the few minor problems that would only annoy someone with OCD (that'd be me). I'll fix them tomorrow.

Perler Bead Frenzy

As you may now, the only time I ever play with Perler Beads is when I am in New Jersey. Why is that? I'll tell you now, they are the most annoying craft idea EVER. If you don't iron them right, then forget it. You have to have a ton of patience, that of which I have a limited supply of.

But anyway, my little 9 year old cousin loves Perler Beads, so guess who got to keep my whole supply of Perler Beads? Hehe.

This is what we did while I was at his house:

Photobucket
This is the first cat he made, and as you can tell... The first one I ironed. I hadn't ironed Perler Beads in at LEAST a year, so it kind of took me a few tries to get it perfect. Unfortunately for this warped cat, he was the first test subject.

Photobucket
This fish took both of us to finish. It was late at night, and we took turns decorating it. That's why it looks ecclectic.

Photobucket
This is "the weirdest cat ever". My cousin made this one. I don't really think it looks very weird. He looks pretty normal compared to the poor warped cat.

Photobucket
I made this dolphin. It's not that exciting, other than it glows in the dark. But most of our creations do.

Photobucket
This is a "B". I made it for my cousin. He was absolutely amazed that I could do this. But what can I say... I've got skillz!

Photobucket
I made this one too. It kicks butt. "M" for Moxie!

Photobucket
This is an action shot of all of them. Aren't they just a happy family?!?

I am very honored to receive this award. Now I am passing it on.

I wish I had more underdogs to give this award to... but I don't. :(

Happy reading, everyone!

Stay Beautiful,
Moxie

I'm back from New Jersey!

Unfortunately, I'm home now. :( I had a ton of fun, and I really miss it now. It's too hot down here.

I made a few more crafts in my last few days in New Jersey. I'll post them within the next few days.

Totally Awkward Tuesday!

Once again, it is Totally Awkward Tuesday, in which myself and many other bloggers participate with Tova Darling, at her blog Secret Life of Tova Darling. Here I go.

About 5 years ago, I went to this Christian Youth Camp with my former youth group. Here, we volunteered in the community and such. It was a very moving time in my life, but yet, very awkward. I was only in the sixth grade, so I was tremendously awkward just at that.

We had to go somewhere with our group, and after that, we were going to go to Walmart. My group went to this other church place, where there were showers. We were given the opportunity to take showers in the two shower stalls there: the boy stall and the girl stall.

Now there were only about three or four dudes in our group, the rest of us were girls. Once the dudes were done in the shower, the rest of the girls were aloud to use the boys stall if they needed to. So, of course, I did.

I took my shower in the boys' stall. If I may add, it was INCREDIBLY disgusting. Words cannot explain how disgusting it was, but believe me, it was disgusting.

So afterwards, at Walmart, I was discussing how disgusting the boys' bathroom was. Then, I said very loudly, "I'm NEVER using the boys' bathroom again!!!" This lady gave me a weird look, and one of my friends said, "Did you really have to say that THAT loudly?"

None the less, I look back on those days and laugh. But it was incredibly awkward. And disgusting. Seriously. I'm NEVER using the boys' bathroom/shower stall AGAIN. Eew.

Knitting scares me

Today, I went to the crochet/knitting circle that I've been going to since I got to New Jersey. I've been avoiding knitting, seriously. But, I've learned a few stitches, so I'm hoping that one day I'll get used to knitting so I won't be scared of it anymore. But it is SO nerve wrecking!

I still like crocheting better. :P

Commenting issue is FIXED!

The only followers I do have have been having a problem commenting my posts. This post is a test. I will comment my own post right now, after I press publish post.

UPDATE: The commenting issue is fixed. I am so sorry to anyone this may have inconvenienced. Thanks for letting me know that there was a problem.

Melted Crayon Creations

My time in New Jersey has made me very dedicated to crafting. I actually brought a craft project up north that my awesomely creative cousin never heard of. I am very proud of myself.

Saturday, we melted crayons. Our result was this:

And this guy is absolutely adorable. He has a heart... sort of.
